SKETCHING
As BSc graduated Industrial Designer, I practised a lot with sketching. I can draw products or interfaces, as rough 2D concepts as well as detailed 3D designs. I learned a lot of guidelines how to make a solid construction, but also how to represent several materials.
I draw with fineliners and markers on papersheets, but mostly I use my Wacom tablet.

SKILLS
HUMAN-PRODUCT RELATIONSHIP
As designer it is important to understand the relationship between the product and the user. Not only the end user, but also the installer and the housekeeper, for example, should be kept in mind during the design process. I am trained to conduct surveys and to speak with the target groups. Personally, I think the user should always be central in the desiging process, that is why I usually perform the analysis phase thoroughly.
As a follow-up, a form study can be performed to find the best appearences fitted to a certain brand or target group, to find a shape that arouses a certain feeling, or to find a shape that is ergonomical to use.
TECHNICAL DRAWINGS
To make technical drawings, I am used to make use of the modeling program SolidWorks. I can make both 3D design models with the program, as well as 2D technical drawings.
I control globally extensions as MoldFlow and Force Simulation Studies, and I can make use of 'related dimensions'.

MANUFACTURING
I love production halls. It sounds a little odd, but I become really enthousiastic when I see raw materials turn into fantastic products.
In my studies I learned a lot about production methods (including some cost calculation), and also about risk management. I worked with tools like the House of Quality, the FMEA analysis, and multiple Cause and Effect Matrices.
Because of my interest of production facilities, I did a minor course in redesigning production lines and facilities. This course was based on theories like Just-in-Time, Lean-Six-Sigma and the 5S.
PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY
Unfortunately, I do not own my own SLR camera. However, I can make high quality pictures with it. I am specialized in photographing products.

BUSINESS & INNOVATION
Recently, I became more interested in the management part of product development. That is why I followed multiple courses in financial management, IP management, innovation management, and business development (management of new projects, ventures, and collaborations).
My personal opinion is that, despite the drive to efficiency, project teams should have a semi-informal work atmosphere. Also, I think businesses should strive to more transparancy to the customer and should take responsibility for the products, services and techniques they supply. That is why I think a little filosophical in each strategical project I perform as well.
* In a few weeks I finished the TRIZ course.
